DescriptionAngthong Bang Sadet Court Doll Centre 1.jpg
English: The centre is located behind Wat Sutthawas in Ban Bang Sadet sub-district, Pa Mok district. This project was initiated by H.M. Queen Sirikit in 1976 with an aim to help increase income to the people and to rehabilitate and to preserve court doll production using clay - a natural resource available in the area.
There is a two-storey traditional Thai house called “Khum Suvarnabhumi” in the centre demonstrates court doll production. There are exhibitions of activities carried out by H.M. King Bhumibol Adulyadej and royal family members on the second floor. And on the ground floor is the office of potters who was trained by master Julathat Payakkaranon. In addition to the demonstration, the dolls, together with other OTOP products, are also available to visitors with reasonable prices.
The center presently is the largest source of court doll and it is known worldwide. The most popular doll purchased is a woman doll wears bamboo hat sailing boat with fruits.
