DescriptionAndover - Norman Arch - geograph.org.uk - 556600.jpg
English: Andover - Norman Arch This is all that remains of the first St Mary's Church which was demolished in 1840. The original Norman church was said to be unsafe and needed replacing, however it took explosives to demolish it as it was not in such bad condition after all. The arch dates from around 1150AD and was placed in its current location in 1845 five years after the original church was demolished.
