English: Ancient Greek football player balancing the ball. Part of a marble grave stele, found in Piraeus, 400-375 BC. Item (NAMA) 873 of the National Archaeological Museum, Athens. Part of a grave stele, made of pentelic marble. It was found in Piraeus. Only part of the shaft of the stele survives, adorned by a relief loutrophoros. The figure of a nude youth practicing with a ball in the palaestra is depicted in low relief on the belly of the vase. His folded himation can be seen on a pillar behind him. The youth is watched by his young servant holding an aryballos and a strigil.
Ελληνικά: Tμήμα επιτύμβιας στήλης, από πεντελικό μάρμαρο, 400-375 π.X. στο Αρχαιολογικό μουσείο Αθηνών, έκθεμα 873. Bρέθηκε στον Πειραιά. Σώζεται μέρος του σώματος της στήλης, την οποία κοσμούσε ανάγλυφη λουτροφόρος, με τη μορφή ενός γυμνού νέου στην παλαίστρα ασκούμενου με ένα τόπι, πίσω του διακρίνεται διπλωμένο πάνω σε πεσσό το ιμάτιό του. Tον νέο παρακολουθεί ο μικρός υπηρέτης του κρατώντας αρύβαλλο και στλεγγίδα.
