I passed by this "Monument" many times within the couple of years before I posted this image after moving to Monrovia. I was usually heading in the direction away from the sign, so I was on the opposite side of the street when passing it, but I got the feeling I was trying to avoid it. When looking at it from across the street I would get the impression that it was the bible on the sign that bothered me. It wasn't until YouTuber/podcaster A.I. released a podcast series in which they, their co-host, and some guests played a role-playing game in which they defeated a conspiracy of white supremacists all named Allen that I decided to give this sign a closer look. I noticed the cross on it after I approached it and realized that that was what was making me uncomfortable.
Actually, perhaps "Monument" is the correct term. I recommend seeing it in person if possible. It's located on Shamrock Ave. in Monrovia, CA, outside the Second Baptist Church.
