English: Allegory on marriage, after Titian; on the left, a woman dressed as Venus holds a crystal ball; a man dressed as Mars (and identified as Alfonso de Avalos by the inscription) places his left hand on her shoulder; on the right, Cupid, a woman with her right hand to her chest, and a figure carrying a flower basket; the latter three may represent Love, Hymen and Fertility. 1867
