DescriptionAleppo Tell Halaf replica in National Museum 0092.jpg
English: These statues at the entrance to the Aleppo Archaeological Museum are from the Tell Halaf (early first millenium) which was discovered in 1899 by a German diplomat. Rather, they are replicas and the originals were carried off to Berlin, where a direct hit smattered them into 25.000 pieces during a WWII bomb raid. In the Pergammon museum in Berlin a sample of them were on display after reconstruction.
