Summary

Description
English: The front, note the machicolation and firing slits. A two-storeyed bastion with a passage that takes a right-angled bend with now mainly Mamluk remains, but first constructed under Ghazi. It had a counterpart bastion now gone. An inscription mentions the last Mamluk ruler, Sultan Qansawh al-Ghawri (ruled 1500-16), who had ithe gate reconstructed.
