Summary

Description
English: Publicity photo of American jazz saxophonist Albert Ayler in a session at Capitol Studios, New York, circa 1967–68 for ABC/Impulse! Records, most likely during the recording of his 1968 album Love Cry.
Date
English: Photo taken either August 31, 1967, or February 13, 1968, the session dates for Love Cry. Published no later than 1971, when Ayler's final album for ABC/Impulse!, titled The Last Album, was released.
Source
English: Scan via Ayler.co.uk. Cropped and retouched by uploader; see upload history below for unretouched cropped version, or compare the full untouched scan with original margins (see "other versions").
This is a retouched picture, which means that it has been digitally altered from its original version. Modifications made by Blz 2049.

Author
English: Photographer uncredited, but the photo was almost certainly taken by Chuck Stewart (1927–2017), who is credited with the photography on Love Cry and most of the photography for the rest of Ayler's ABC/Impulse! releases. Published by ABC/Impulse! Records.

This tag is designed for use where there may be a need to assert that any enhancements (eg brightness, contrast, colour-matching, sharpening) are in themselves insufficiently creative to generate a new copyright. It can be used where it is unknown whether any enhancements have been made, as well as when the enhancements are clear but insufficient. For known raw unenhanced scans you can use an appropriate {{PD-old}} tag instead. For usage, see Commons:When to use the PD-scan tag.

Note: This tag applies to scans and photocopies only. For photographs of public domain originals taken from afar, {{PD-Art}} may be applicable. See Commons:When to use the PD-Art tag.
