English: Strolling Through Istanbul mentions this mosque (founded at an uncertain date by Ahi Çelebi ibni Kemal, who was Chief Physician of the hospital of Fatih Mehmet and died in 1523) as “of little architectural interest, aside from the fact that it was apparently restored by Sinan. Its principal interest to us is in its association with Evliya Çelebi, whose Seyahatname of Book of Travels we have so often quoted in our guide.” It then explains how the author mentioned a dream in which he met many saintly figures in this mosque, along with the prophet, who told him he would be a great traveler. He asked a great dream interpreter to interpret the dream, who not surprisingly told him he would be a great traveler. " |
