English: Agnes Irwin (December 30, 1841 – December 5, 1914) was an American educator and higher education executive. Principal, from 1869 to 1894, of the West Penn Square Seminary for Young Ladies in Philadelphia (later renamed the Agnes Irwin School), she was subsequently appointed as the first dean of Radcliffe College in Massachusetts in 1894. She served in that capacity until her retirement in February 1909, and died in Philadelphia in 1914. This is a cropped, sepia-toned version of her photo that appeared in multiple publications nationwide in 1909.
