English: HMS Cardiff sailor during Falklands war 1982 - All L1A1 rifles in HMS Cardiff's small-arms armory were adapted to fire in fully automatic mode and fitted with 30 round Light Machine Gun (LMG) magazines. The standard L1A1 uses a standard 20 round 7.62 magazine.
One hundred percent captured (Goose Green) Argentine 7.62 tracer ammunition rounds was used to potentially deter and make aiming more effective against attacking Argentine Air Force fighter aircraft. |
