English: Actor Charles Groves (b. Limerick 1843 - d. Sussex 1909), eldest of his generation of the celebrated Groves acting family, featured here in The Sketch magazine. Groves was an Irish-born, British actor who performed in the West End and on Broadway in such successes as 'A Pair of Spectacles' with Sir John Hare, and with the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company.
