The photograph shows a closeup of a red, hiacynth-like flower against a background of the plant's leaves and stems. The flower has five pink-red overlapping petals that are darkest at the edge and fade to pink, then light green towards the center. A cluster of stamens bursts from a central structure; the several pistils (single multifurcate pistil?) project out of the focused field of the camera. The lighting and composition of this photo result in the unintended effect of the flower appearing to float in space, unattached to the rest of the plant.
