GUNDALA Putra Petir by the late Harya Suraminata (Hasmi) was adapted into a big screen film through the hands of director Joko Anwar, 43. In his latest film, Joko adapts the Gundala story to be more grounded and brings out the problems of Indonesian people. Joko was of the view that when Hasmi and the comic legends created their characters, according to him there were those who wanted to be expressed as an expression of the dynamics of the problems of the era because they were not free to protest or criticize. In the current era of freedom of expression, he added, Joko considered it necessary to ground the story of Gundala so that it was close to the problems facing Indonesia. The film, which will premiere on August 29, 2019, will be played by Abimana Aryasatya as Sancaka, the character who will become Gundala. (Fathurrozak) |
