English: Hand samples of less weathered Abilene conglomerate collected from trenches into the conglomerate at the type location and in landscaping cobbles dredged from the Smoky Hill River.
The limited weathering accentuates the colors of the aggregates, particularly the bright brick red mudstone pebbles eroded from the Dakota Formation beds actually used for making brick. |
