English: A brothel (or seraglio) scene set in a seventeenth-century Dutch interior; at centre, a man and a woman engaged in intercourse, he sitting in an armchair, wearing a skullcap and holding a flagon in his left hand against a low wooden stool, she sitting on top of him, wearing a short cap and drop earrings, and holding up a glass with an ornate stem; a second couple on a raised bed behind at right; a pot hanging in the fireplace at left, dog and cat on the floor at right.
