Summary

Description
English: The drawing of Ernest E. Thompson shows the use of a buffalo jump, here a Blackfoot piskun. A runner lures the herd to follow him by acting like a buffalo. The herd is kept in the middle of the V-formed drive lines by piles of stones. Side hazers are hiding behind the cairns in the drawing. Usually they would rise and wave a hide or blanket to scare the animals from crossing the lines and escape.
