Description
English: Palestine. A substantial monument erected by German airmen at Sheria, in memory of British and Australian airmen, killed in their lines. The stone tablet has the Royal Flying Corps logo and reads: 'Sacred to the memory of Capt FHV Bevan Gen List & RFC 19.4.17, 2/Lieut. NL Steele AFC 20.4.17, Lieut JS Brasell AFC 25.6.17, Capt CA Brooks Wiltshire Regt & RFC attached AFC 6.7.17, 2/Lieut AH Searle AFC 13.7.17, Capt RN Thomas Gen List and RFC 23.7.17, 2/Lieut JW Howells Lancashire Fusiliers & RFC 23.2.17. This monument generously erected to one of them by their enemies was discovered and restored by their friends - January 1918.'.
