Het document is folio 131 (nummer rechts bovenaan) van de Catalogus Leupe, ondergebracht in het Nationaal Archief in Den Haag. Aan de rechterrand is een strook geplakt met daarop in potlood 1176, het huidige nummer van de kaart. In de Catalogus Leupe is een verwijzing naar de catalogus van een tentoonstelling in Amsterdam uit 1919 geschreven. Notities verso (achterkant): No. 24 / 130 / 602 x / Portef. I Uit de Memorien en Beschryvingen van algemeen Batavia 1619 / uit overgekomen stukken Q II 1620 brief 7 oct 1619 de Jonge IV pagina 1. / Schaal 25 R op 1 duim rond 1 : 3600 (in potlood, modern handschrift).
English: Map of Batavia with a design for the extension of 'Fortress Jacatra', commonly known as 'Batavia Castle'. Translation of the description on the map:

Index of the fortress and the surrounding land (known as) Jacatra.
A. the Fortress Jacatra.
B. is the design of a new fortress; outlined with point I.
C. the river.
D. the sea, which is overall very flat. (a joke of the map maker)
E. is the quarter where the Chinese and the wedded (men) live, which is already full with houses.
F. scrubland, located in marshy ground that becomes partially flooded at high tides.
G. location where the town of Jacatra used to be.
H. fisherman's quarter, where the English, opposite to our fortress, used to have a lodge and where they installed a battery (of guns).
I. the foundations (of the new fortress) will be laid down at this point; through the marshland on sandy grounds, at a depth of approximately 1½ fathom.

A strip has been pasted down the right-hand edge. 1176, the number of the chart, is written in pencil. In an addition to the Leupe Catalogue, reference is made to a catalogue of an exhibition in Amsterdam held in 1919. Notes on the reverse:No. 24 / 130 / 602 x / Portef.
