English: The ABCG2 channel is a human multidrug transporter. Cholesterol molecules play an integral role in the function of the protein. The gap on the intracellular side is the binding pocket where drugs first bind. The intracellular loops also possess nucleotide-binding pockets that allow ATP hydrolysis to pump drugs to the extracellular environment.
