Summary

Description A U.S. Navy Ling-Temco-Vought A-7A-4b-CV Corsair II (BuNo 153233) of Attack Squadron VA-97 "Warhawks" over the Gulf of Tonkin, in 1968. For its first deployment, VA-97 was assigned to Carrier Air Wing 14 (CVW-14) aboard the aircraft carrier USS Constellation (CVA-64) for a deployment to Vietnam from 29 May 1968 to 31 January 1969.
153233 was later shot down by flak near Ban Dakpok, 50 km north Muang Fangdeng, Laos, on 7 April 1970 while still in service with VA-97. The pilot ejected and was rescued by helicopter.
