Deutsch: North American F-100D-60-NA Super Sabre, s/n 56-2928, der 81st TFS (Tactical Fighter Squadron), 50th TFW (Tactical Fighter Wing), in Wheelus AB, Libyen, während eines Waffentrainings im Jahr 1958. Heimatbasis der 81st TFS war Toul-Rosieres AB in Frankreich von Juli 1956-1959, danach Hahn AB in Rheinland-Pfalz, Bundesrepublik Deutschland bis 1971. Bis etwa 1961/62 waren die F-100D vom Geschwaderstab des 50th TFW mit den zugeh. Squadrons/Staffeln 10th, 81st u. 417th TFS auch in Giebelstadt gelegentlich zu Gast. Die F-100 war bei der 81st TFS bis 1966 im Einsatz, als Nachfolgemodell wurde die F-4C/D Phantom II nach Europa geschickt. |
