Description

In front of the Registry building is a carving in Oamaru stone of the University of Canterbury's old Coat of Arms.

Like the current coat of arms of the University (and New Zealand), it features fleece or dead sheep, representing the pastoral pursuits.

This particular coat of arms was saved from the Helen Connon Hall in 2001 when the building was demolished.
