English: Location is in the Chickasaw Heritage Park at Metal Museum Drive in Memphis, Tennessee.
Images show Paleo-Indian mounds of unknown age. The site was Chief Chisca's Chickasaw fortress. In 1739 it was the location of French Fort Assumption. In the Civil War it was the site of Confederate Fort Pickering. For the use as Civil War Fort the top was hollwed out and artillery placed there, an ammunition bunker was dug into the side of the mound.
