Americans held prisoner during the Vietnam War were in captivity longer than any in United States history, some for more than 8 1/2 years. From 1961 through 1973, they were subject to constant torture and deprivation at the hands of the enemy.
Despite barbaric conditions, they endured by supporting each other and their chain of command, never losing faith that the people and government of the United States would bring them home.
Guided by the United States Code of Conduct and showing uncommon courage and resolve. Vietnam P.O.W.'s resisted every attempt by the enemy to break their spirit and morale to achieve their goal ... "Return With Honor."
God Bless America
