Summary

Description Having never entered Greece by train before, I finally covered two of the border crossings in 2010. The route in was from Sofia via Kulata. On the Greek side, a class 220 is in charge all the way through to Thessaloniki. Seen here at Strymónas prior to running rounds its load 2 of OSE air conditioned coaches. Built by Adtranz/Bombardier, first deliveries were in 1998 with the final batch being delivered in 2004. This meant the demise of noisy, older classes on passenger trains as seen in the past. These were originally classified class A471.
