English: Armenian clergy at an Armenian Apostolic liturgy in the Roman Catholic Basilica of Saint Servatius in Maastricht, Netherlands. The service was part of the 2018 Heiligdomsvaart ("relics pilgrimage"), a religious and historic event that takes place once in seven years and dates back to the Middle Ages. The Armenian Christians have a special relationship to Saint Servatius (†384), the Armenian-born bishop, missionary and patron saint of Maastricht. Here: Armenian clergy arriving in the basilica and paying hommage to the reliquary chest of Saint Servatius before ascending the stairs to the basilica's sanctuary. |
