English: Left: Commemorative plaque of the start of the restoration of Kruisherenklooster inside Kruisherenkerk, Maastricht, the Netherlands. The plaque features the names of the director of the Dutch heritage organization (Monumentenzorg) and those of the three children of the owner of the building, hotel entrepreneur Camille Oostwegel. In the centre the red-white cross of the Canons Regular of the Order of the Holy Cross (Ordo Sanctae Crucis).
Right: Commemorative plaque of "Monumentenprijs 2015" inside the church. The prize was given for the successful restoration and adaptation of the building to its new use. The prize is named after Victor de Stuers, native of Maastricht, and founder of the Dutch heritage organization (Monumentenzorg). The Gothic church and monastery of the Croziers (or Crutched Friars) dates from the 15th century and was converted into a luxury hotel (Kruisherenhotel) in 2003-05. |
