Summary

Description
English: The Morris–Jumel Mansion, also known as the Roger and Mary Philipse Morris House, "Mount Morris" and other similar names, located at 65 Jumel Terrace in Roger Morris Park in the Washington Heights neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City, is the oldest house in the borough. It was built in 1765 in the Palladian style by Roger Morris, a British military officer, and served as a headquarters for both sides in the American Revolution. It was bought in 1810 by Stephen and Eliza Jumel, and remodeled in the Federal style. The interiors are Georgian. Aaron Burr later married Eliza Jumel and lived in the house. The estate was sold off in lots after 1882. Z(Sources: Guide to NYC Landmarks(4th ed.) and AIA Guide to NYC (5th ed.))
