Description

Gyroporus mcnabbii Davoodian, Bougher & Halling

Image location: Yarram, Victoria, Australia

Habitat – Mixed soil, amongst grass. Alongside a river. Found growing close by P. subaeruginosa.

Gills – Tan coloured pore surface.

Stipe – Brown top to bottom, slightly tapered towards bottom. 40-50mm hight. 10mm thick approx. Not reticulate.

Cap – Also brown same colour as stipe. Smooth and velvety texture. 60-70mm approx. Splitting at edges with age.

No colour change apparent either initially on cutting, nor after a 2 hour period.

No paticular odour nor taste present, both not distinctive nor unpleasant.
