English: Diesel loc 5311 from the Belgian Railways (SNCB), seen at the Stockem (near Arlon, in the very south of Belgium) locomotives yard. These locs have been built under General Motors Licence and used to have a bulldog nose, but where rebuild for better driver comfort (specificaly, the drivers's cab was on the wrong side, reducing the ability to see groundfloor signals)
Français : La locomotive diesel 5311 des chemins de fer Belges (SNCB), vue sur les voies de l'atelier traction de Stockem, près d'Arlon. Ces locomotives ont été construites sous licence General Motors au début des années 1960 et ont assuré un service régulier sur la ligne Athus-Meuse jusqu'au début du 21° siècle (lors de l'électrification de cette ligne), avant d'être réutilisées sur les chantiers des Lignes à grande vitesse belges 3 et 4. Lors de ce cliché en 2009, elle tractaient encore sporadiquement des trains de renouvellement de l'infrastructure entre Arlon et Luxembourg. |
