Summary

Description

A young specimen of Amanita gemmata, the Gemmed mushroom. Photo taken September 9, 2006, in Königsforst near Cologne, Germany.

Due to dry and warm weather in the preceding days, the color of the cap is less bright than the more typical corn yellow (seen e.g. in File:Amanita gemmata von hms.jpg). A false death cap would have an almost white cap under such conditions.
