Deutsch: 30.09.2004 99885 Ohrdruf, Schloßplatz 2: Schloß Ehrenstein (GMP: 50.829537,10.736158). Um 700 Bau eines Fliehturmes (Wohnturm). 777 Gründung des Petristifts durch Lullus. 1463 werden die Grafen von Gleichen Eigentümer der Stiftsgebäude. 1550-1590 Bau des Renaissanceschlosses nach Plänen von G. und Kirchhof. 1631 erben die Grafen von Hohenlohe das Schloß. 1760 werden Teile des Schlosses in den Barockstil umgebaut. 1870 Verkauf des Schlosses an den Gothaer Staat. Das Schloß wird Realgymnasium. 1924 übernimmt der Rat der Stadt das Schloß zur gemeinnützigen Verwendung (Schule). Ab 1971 Ausbau zum kulturellen Zentrum, seit 1997 ist es Eigentum der Stadt.
