Description

Maranello Red 1992 HSV GTS (VP). The GTS was based on the Holden Commodore VP.

The Holden VP Commodore was built from Sept 1991-July 1993. The VN got a facelift in 1991; the VP, with translucent acrylic grille (colour coded on S and SS and chrome on Calais), also updated taillights and independent suspension introduced on SS and Calais. Again sedans, wagons and utilitys were available. Models available were the Executive, Berlina, Calais, S and SS The SS got 5.0 V8, full body kit, sports interior, FE2 suspension, alloys, the basis for the HSV cars. HSV built performance versions for Holden, to make money for their race programme and to homologate parts for racing. Models carried over from the VN were; the Clubsport sedan and Maloo Utility, new were the more powerful GTS and Calais based Senator.

The VP GTS (only 120 made) came standard with 200 kW 5.0 V8 and HSV's premium brake package. It got the front bumper/air dam assembly, rear bumper and side skirts from the SS, the rear boot spoiler, grille and wheels were unique to the GTS and Senator 5000i. The GTS also got a ’GTS’ decals on the bonnet, rear bumper and on each front door. Mainly available in Anthracite (charcoal) with limited numbers in Maranello Red and Alaskan White.
