Summary
| Description |
English: Two-party-only results of the 1988 United States presidential election in Oklahoma. Data from the Harvard Record of American Democracy Dataverse. Precinct shapefile is approximate -- 1990 Census Voting Tabulation Districts (VTDs) were used as approximate stand-ins for true precincts in most cases, since true precincts are difficult or impossible (records destroyed) to acquire in most cases. Using QGIS, real precincts were traced from paper maps and used in Canadian, Cleveland, and Garvin Counties. Further edits were applied to the 1990 file to get the best possible approximation for precincts in 1988. Early and absentee votes were formulaically allocated from the county level to the precinct level based on election day results. |
