The medieval, walled city of Mdina, once the capital of Malta, is stragetically positioned on an impressive hill in the middle of the small island. Prominent against the skyline is St Paul's Cathedral built on the site where the governor Publius was reported to have met St Paul following his shipwreck off the Maltese coast.
