Summary

Description
English: This is a Soap Box Derby racer designed, built and driven by Dale Mell in 1964, winning the local Derby Championship in Duluth, Minnesota. Harold Conrad, also from Duluth, won the All-American World Championship the previous year, which Dale tried to recapture for Duluth in '64. His black racer was a typically narrow design with cleft fore deck over a forward-leaning profile. Illustration by Bill Wrigley
