Description1962 Chaparral 1 (004) at New Canaan, front right.jpg
English: 1962 Chaparral 1, chassis no 004, at a Caffeine & Carburetors event in New Canaan, CT. Originally campaigned by Skip Hudson for Chuck Jones' Team Meridian Inc. (TMI). 340 horsepower Chevrolet Corvette engine and a Borg-Warner T-10 four-speed manual transmission. This car was originally written off and ended up in landfill, but Jones had lots of bits and pieces and spares laying around. Dick Troutman began rebuilding the entire car in about 1988 around a small piece of tube and the steering rack from the original car.
