English: Column chart graphing annual mass change of reference glaciers, 1950-2020, based on data from the w:World Glacier Monitoring Service.
  • Source of data: Global Glacier State. WGMS.ch. World Glacier Monitoring Service under the auspices of: ISC (WDS), IUGG (IACS), UN environment, UNESCO, WMO (2020).
  • Data (through 2023): http://wgms.ch/data/faq/mb_ref.csv (click "save link as"; you may have to delete ".crdownload" from end of downloaded file to be able to access the .csv data spreadsheet)
  • Source states: "Annual mass balance of reference glaciers with more than 30 years of ongoing glaciological measurements. Annual mass change values are given on the y-axis in the unit meter water equivalent (m w.e.) which corresponds to tonnes per square meter (1,000 kg m-2). Source: WGMS (2023, updated and earlier reports)."
  • Technical note: most SVG code for Version 4 was automatically generated by the "Warming stripes bar chart" spreadsheet linked at User:RCraig09/Excel to XML for SVG. Additions and adjustments were made in a text editor.
  • Most of the XML code for Version 1 of this SVG graphic was automatically generated using the "Vertical bar chart (column chart)" spreadsheet linked at User:RCraig09/Excel to XML for SVG. I manually changed colors of some bars to blue.
