It was an all new car for 1941, a wider body that nearly covered the running boards, the front fenders more integrated and the headlights moved right forward. The 1941 car had a 3 piece grille, a tall centre section. For 1942, the grille looked like an electric shaver. Production on the 1942 Ford only lasted a few months, before all efforts were focused on the war. Some of these 1942 models were sold to the military for next 3 years. Civilian production resumed in July 1945. The 1945/46 Ford was identical to the 1942 model under the skin, though it got a new grille with horizontal bars and red accents.

Very similar for 1947/48, visual differences included the removal of the red accents from the grille and the two small lights located just above it.

Models available; Special, Deluxe and Super Deluxe. The 1941-48 Ford was also produced in Australia in V8 Sedan and unique to Australia, the Coupe Utility.
