Using these images on Wikipedia may in fact benefit the owners commercial opportunities by leading people back to there site (to buy or donate) I have been in contact with NPG(UK) and in response to explaining the current issues with using there CC licensed images they did not complain at the use and said they would review the license (changes unlikely till mid 2014).
