English: This was the fourth freshman team to be established at the University since the freshman were barred from varsity competition before the beginning of the 1913 season. The freshman compiled a 2-1 record, defeating St. Viator after there 210-0 win over Lane Tech and Western State (later Western Michigan) during a streak that included a wins in 19 of their last 20 games. They were defeated by Kalamazoo, which would finish the season with a 7-0 record and be crowned champions of the MIAA. The frosh were coached by Freeman Fitzgerald, a future NFL player, and captained by the legendary George Gipp, who would go on have one of the most prolific careers on the Notre Dame football team.
