Deutsch: sechs Wehrpflichtige des Deutschen Heeres der Kaiserzeit, hier: Infanteristen 1898 in Zabern (Saverne), vorne sitzend zwei Musiker (zu erkennen an den "Schwalbennestern") vom 2. Oberrheinischen Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 99 (–> Zahl „99“ auf den Schulterklappen). An der Mütze tragen alle oben die im Jahr zuvor eingeführte schwarz-weiß-rote Kokarde ("Reichskokarde").
