Description
English: The former Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) embassy, historically known as the Joseph Taylor Arms Mansion, located at 1800 New Hampshire Avenue, N.W., in the Dupont Circle neighborhood of Washington, D.C.

Designed in 1908 by the architectural firm of Hornblower & Marshall, the Spanish Colonial Revival-style building originally served as the residence of banker Joseph Taylor Arms. The DRC has owned the newly restored property (photo was taken before restoration) since the 1960s; until recently, the building was so deteriorated that it had become unsafe for embassy employees.

The Joseph Taylor Arms Mansion is designated as a contributing property to the Dupont Circle Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.
