Summary

Description
English: Actinium-225 is produced by the Tri-Lab effort (Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Brookhaven National Laboratory and Los Alamos National Laboratory) for the US DOE Isotope Program. This medical radioisotope is held in a v-vial at ORNL. Note the Cherenkov blue glow that originates from the ionization of surrounding air by alpha particles.
