English: CATC CAMP FUJI, Japan— Lt. Gen. Lawrence D. Nicholson, right, and Chief of Staff Koji Yamazaki shake hands Aug. 27 at the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force Fuji school in Oyama-town, Japan. The Marine Corps leadership expressed their support of the JGSDF through their attendance and opening their artillery range to the JGSDF. The firepower event helps viewers understand combat capabilities in modern warfare and demonstrate the will and ability to provide defense. Yamazaki is the chief of staff of the JGSDF. Nicholson is the commanding general of III Marine Expeditionary Force.
