Summary

Description
English: Narayanpal temple is close the northern banks of the Indravati river, about 20 kilometers west of Bastar and about 4 kilometers east of the scenic Chitrakote waterfalls. It is one of the larger temples found in this region, notable for its Chalukyan-style architecture.

The Narayanpal Vishnu Temple stands near the confluence of rivers Indravati and Narangi. This beautiful temple is attributed to a Hindu queen named Mumunda Devi of Chindak dynasty, about which documented history is quite limited.

The nirandhara saptaratha temple has a Nagara-style architecture. A notable feature of this temple is that the Vishnu statue is integrated in the sanctum. The mandapa dome is also impressive, hallmark of the 11th and 12th century design ideas found in north Karnataka. The inscriptions found here are in Devanagari script.
