中文（臺灣）：紀念碑以象徵「慈悲與博愛」的不銹鋼「蓮花座」來襯托紀念講台，以象徵「和平」的不銹鋼「摺紙鶴」，遙遙相對在群眾廣場另一端，並以象徵台灣鄉土的蕃薯藤形塑避雷針。
「蓮花座」與「摺紙鶴」之間為一個可容納兩千人的綠地斜坡大廣場，紀念講台以「追思壇」形成一個可供戶外音樂演奏的圓形音樂台。「蓮花座」、「追思壇」、「群眾廣場」所形成的空間，宛如一座希臘戶外廣場，「蓮花座」的不銹鋼版儼然是一面音響反射板，可將音樂台上的音樂，傳達到廣場上的每一角落，夜間的投光照明，以間接反射的方式打亮蓮花座，有如一?出淤泥而不染的蓮花，藉以紀念二二八事件的英靈。 |
