中文（繁體）：玫瑰聖母堂係昭和3年（1928）重建，乃為台灣主教座堂，主教堂的整體建築造型仿哥德式及羅馬式，整體建築呈現厚重、向上垂直發展的線條，正門上方有清代奉旨碑，其左右兩側則有教宗、樞機主教的牧徽，本教堂亦為亞洲三大聖堂之一。
English: This is Taiwan's largest Catholic Church. Founded in 1859, it is the first cathedral to be reopened by the Catholic Church, and is also the fountainhead of Catholicism in modern Taiwan. As the present Minor Basilica for the Diocese of Kaohsiung, it is one of Asia's three cathedrals. The Basilica is built in the style of European Gothic churches, adding a Roman style in places, while the interior is laid out in octagons. It was voted number one in the Taiwanese 100 Scenic Spot items of Architecture in 2001. |
