Summary

Description
English: The drum was used for timekeeping in ancient times. The Drum Tower originally had 25 timekeeping drums, including one principle drum and 24 group drums (representing the 24 solar terms in China), but only the principle drum survived. The drum has a diameter of 1.4 meters and a height of 2.22 meters, and it was made with a whole sheet of cowhide.
